Free screening of “The Swiftlet:  An Immigrant”, an experimental dramatic play created by the Nepali actor/director, Subash B. Thapa, based on the poem “The Swiftlet”, written by renowned Nepali poet Keshav Raj Gnawali.   The poem describes a bird’s migration from his homeland and acceptance into a new land.  Mr. Thapa created a metaphorical interpretation that represents migrants, not only on the Southern border of the US, but globally as well, with the goal of illuminating the humanistic view without the toxic political rhetoric.  Thus, “The Swiftlet: An Immigrant” was born, which is enhanced with music and dance in the style of Nepali folk fusion.
